he came into my room and sat down on the bed and said, in his sleepy  
voice, "The past is the longest of all"
I said, "What do you mean?"
he said, "The present is right now and then it's the past, so it's the  
shortest. The future is always turning into the present and then into  
the past. So I think the past is the longest of all."
